Martina Forni - violist - (Concertgebouw Amsterdam)
Martina Forni has been a violist of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam Orchestra since 2013. Previously, she played for other leading orchestras in the Netherlands and Great Britain: Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra and Asko | Schönberg.
This excellent Italian violist is also an active chamber musician. She is a member of recognised and award-winning chamber ensembles, such as the Il Faro Quartet and the Ensemble Lumaka. She is also an accomplished Baroque viola virtuoso and boasts performances with Anima Eterna Brugge, Ensemble Zefiro and La Chambre Philharmonique.
Martina Forni is a graduate of the Verona Conservatory and the Amsterdam Conservatory. Nobuko Imai, Michael Gieler, Umberto Forni and Anner Bylsma were her masters. She is a highly versatile musician. She feels equally comfortable in the baroque and contemporary repertoire, classical and jazz, and even the Argentine tango.
